School Idioms - სასკოლო იდიომები

Bookworm - someone who reads a lot, all  the time - წიგნის ჭია, კითხვის მოყვარული
He is such a bookworm. He will definitively pass the exams.


Brainstorm - to develop an idea or think of new ideas - აზრის წამოჭრა, თავში ახალი იდეის მოსვლა
Before we start our lesson, we should brainstorm some ideas about possible future inventions.


eager beaver - very enthusiastic - მუყაითი, მონდომებული, ენთუზიასტი
He showed up at school twenty minutes before class started. He is such an eager beaver, ready to start.
Hit the books - to begin to study hard - სწავლის შემართებით დაწყება
She has to prepare her TOEFL test, she has to hit the books.



copy cat - someone who copies another person's work - ის ვინც სხვისგან იწერს
His essay is exactly the same as mine. He is a copy cat.

dropout - leave school without graduating - სწავლის მიტოვება
Some millionaire guys were college dropouts.

teacher's pet - teacher's favorite person - მასწავლებლის საყვარელი მოსწავლე
That little girl is a really teacher's pet. She brings fresh apples to her every morning.



pass with flying colors - to pass something with a high score - მაღალი ქულის მიღება
I passed my exams with lying colors. I am so happy.


learn by heart - to memorize something very well, to recite - ზეპირად სწავლა

cut class/ play hooky, play truant, skip the class -when someone doesn't' go to their lessons - შატალო, გაპარვა სკოლიდან,  გაკვეთილების გაცდენა
